Program Jumlah SKS Lulus     IP Minimal    Lama Studi Maksimum
W P Total
Magister 24 12 36 2,75* 3 tahun

*Nilai minimal C

To be able to follow the Physics Master’s Program well, students need to have an equivalent of undergraduate education in physics. Students with no such background but excellent achievements can also be accepted, as long as they follow the matriculation program. In the matriculation program, students need to take additional courses of 12 credits which operation will be organized by people in charge.

The minimum academic load at Master’s Program is 36 credits that can be finished in 4 semesters. The load will be divided to courses of 24 required credits (including 9 credits of Thesis and Seminar) and minimum elective courses of 12 credits. The Physics Master’s Program needs to be finished in 6 semesters. The curriculum structure can be seen below:

Compulsory Courses     15 credits
Thesis       9 credits
Elective Courses     12 credits
Total    36 credits

The graduation requirement of Physics Master’s Program is: finishing minimum 36 credits (24 credits of required courses and minimum 12 credits of elective courses) with minimum GPA of 2.75 (minimum score for every course is C) and maximum study period of 3 years (6 semesters). This requirement is in line with the general rules for graduation in ITB master’s programs. The rules can be seen below:

Program  Passing Credits     Minimum GPA    Maximum Study Period
C E Total
Master’s 24 12 36 2,75* 3 years

*Minimum score is C

The compulsory courses consist of fundamental physics concepts and principles. The arrangement of these courses are based on physical “Body of Knowledge” and referred to physics curriculums from numerous universities in the world. The details of each course can be seen at syllabus and SAP.

The elective courses are provided to give students a chance to deepen specific skills in some physics specialties. These specific skills are consistent with the research specialties in physics. The details of each electives can be seen in syllabus and SAP.
